I don't know much about Chandigarh university thou, but I can tell you about the LPU because I am currently studying at LPU and I read on Instagram and LPU official website that their ranking has been upgraded this year again. LPU has been ranked among the top 25 institutions in India for many of its disciplines. We are 12th in Architecture, 24th in Law, and 23rd in Pharmacy across India. Faculty of Engineering jumped to 66th position this year while Management school is ranked 37th across India in NIRF Rankings 2021! LPU has also been ranked 62nd amongst all the universities in India in NIRF Rankings 2021 with a jump of 16 ranks as compared to last year. With a 20% ranking upgrade in almost all rankings as compared to 2020, LPU is growing by leaps and bounds and setting unbreakable benchmarks! hence I feel LPU is a much better option overall, Plus LPU has better placement records and best resources, and best infrastructure.

Chandigarh University is the youngest University to be ranked by NIRF, government. Of India. The NIRF overall ranking of Chandigarh university in Engineering is (61), which is greater than LPU (66). Chandigarh University has persistently justified its title of University with Best placements by WCRC.
