The Bachelor's degree in Textile Technology is itself a full-fledged programme of 4 years duration. It is a discipline of engineering that deals with the production and manufacturing of the textiles. Although the programme covers every aspect of the textile manufacturing process, one can take up some short-term course alongside the Bachelor's programme to upgrade one's own skills. There are many short-term courses offered by Pearl Academy, NIFT and other institutions that can help in acquiring useful skills and have a better prospect in the career ahead. 1. Since computers are important in every field and textiles are also designed digitally now-a-days, you can opt for a course in CAD for textile. It is a 6-month part-time course by NIFT and can be availed in all its branches. 2. A candidate from textile technology can totally get into manufacturing and merchandising as well and own a business of textiles. Hence, it will be a good option to take up a parallel course in apparel merchandising or apparel production management.
