The eligibility criteria of NITs includes that the applicant must have minimum of 50% in boards with mathematics assignment main subject.
50% in boards+a decent percentile in JEE paper 2 are considered for admission in NITs. However it varies for various NITs.
So, the conclusion is that one should have minimum of 50% in boards and should have secured qualifying percentile in JEE main paper 2.

Here are the minimum percentage in boards required for B.Arch at NITs:
- Candidates must have secured a minimum of 75% marks in the Class 12th examination (65% for SC/ST category candidates) or should fall under the top 20 percentile of their respective boards.
- The candidate is also required to pass in each of the subjects of Class 12 / qualifying examination.
