You need to be above 80% in your 12th. To get admission in BIT, Mesra you need to get qualifying marks in BIT entrance exam.

A minimum of 75% or 20 percentile in your state board (for General and OBC) and a minimum of 65% or 20 percentile in your state board (for SC/ST) is required for the B.Tech programme at BIT.

First of all, I would like to clear that BIT Mesra, does not provide B.Tech courses. On the contrary, it provides B.E. Secondly, the admissions in BIT Mesra is purely done on the basis of your JEE Mains rank list, and that also does not depend upon your 12th marks (as per 2018).. .
