7 years agoGMAT is the option other than XAT which can give you a slice in the XLRI. Prepare for it well and you can get a chance to study here. -
XAT is comparatively quite a different exam pertaining to its composition in terms of sections as well as focus areas. You could keep in mind the following things while preparing for XAT.
1-Developed a good reading habit. Keep reading articles from coveted magazines like The economist, Time, HBR and newspaper editorials. Also, try and write 45 point to summarize the articles you read. This definitely helps in increasing your reading speed as well as comprehension skills.
2-For quants, practice is always the key. You need to define your the strongest areas and continuously enhance them while steadily working over the weak areas.

Although the basic preparation for both the exams is almost the same. But, you need to notch it up further to ace XAT. I have always believed that XAT is different from CAT in so many ways. Starting with the level of questions, XAT difficulty level has almost always been a bit higher than that of CAT.
