What qualifications do I need to become a research student in physics? I am a class 12th student.

You should do BS in Physics from IISC Bangalore. You will have to score very high in JEE Advanced for admission in this. You can also apply for CMI Chennai for B.Sc. Physics. After BS, you can do M. S. then Ph.D. /M.Phil. After B.Sc. , you can do M.Sc. /M. S. /integrated Ph.D. Keep searching about entrance exams, their patterns and dates of the Universities listed below - Delhi University, culcutta University, University of Madras, university of Assam, university of Hyderabad, university of Mumbai, Amity University, Jaipur national University etc. Most of the universities give admission on the basis of JEE Advanced score. To be a research student you need to qualify NET and apply for Ph.D.
