To become an RJ, you should have confidence, communication skill, attitude, knowledge and command on the current affairs. Be natural as much as you can. If you talk about salary then - it totally depends on your skills, and how wonderful RJ you are.

You want to grow and stabilise in this field and that would require loads of dedication and focus as it is a very challenging field. Radio Jockeys should be diplomatic in character as you have to interact with people of different nature. Hello! To be very straight for the query, just listen to the radio for 1 hour and you will know all the skills and talent that you need to have for being a good and famous radio jockey. But still I would like to mention some of the good qualities that are considered as the essential for you for being an RJ: (#) Your melodic Voice: A friendly and interesting voice is a necessary attribute, but not an all-sufficient one. Research your own script and break into interesting module. (#) General know-how: Youngsters are preferred as they have new ideas and concepts and are bubbling with enthusiasm. A radio jockey must have a good voice with perfect modulation, diction and clarity while speaking 'on-air'. (#) Humour: People are more likely to listen to their favorite programme by their favorite RJ. Because their favorite RJ is very humorous. This is also you need to possess. The role of a Radio Jockey (RJ) is to inform, update and entertain. Also, known as Radio DJs, their work involves presenting various music programmes and entertaining the audience. A degree in any field is a pre-requisite. A number of institutes also offer courses in communication and broadcasting. It is very important for a Radio Jockey (RJ) to be spontaneous, and have a pleasing, friendly personality. A good voice and a strong command over language is always essential. Though the work is to just speak and entertain, it is not that easy to do so. He/she needs to be very active and healthy in speaking and interacting. He/she needs to have good communication skills and so they can perform well if a show is hosted with guests. Their attitude is also important and their way of speaking and accent should be in such a way so as to attract the audience. All these skills would not be taught and so one nerds or work on it by experience only. This is a good career option for which one can get more money by working enthusiastically and entertaining.

Radio Jockey or a Modern Day Presenter or Announcer is quite tough as well as challenging, because each day new people are placing their claim on the job. This is to note that an RJ remains without a face and is not that active on Screen. In my submission to the library, the small things are in process, after tomorrow, I shall be able to make a more detailed note of qualities and skills after sharing the above Radio Jockey is a fascinating career, where we see someone doing to magic with the voice and words. It is not just the words or the voice, rather it is the way the words are articulated and presented. A radio jockey is to create a live jockeying to entertain the listeners. The challenge lies in the wide variety of listeners and an unending list of interests that people carry in this age. No one can be a radio jockey by the virtue of being excellent at 'Improvising'. The fluency and selection of words with utmost courtesy is also the hallmark of good books. A Radio Jockey write creative pieces and present in the best and interesting way. The Radio Jockey tasks not based on the unreal things. You need to have a style and type of behavior.
