Job is not only for getting monthly pay packages.I think ,In job sector the pay packages will increase depends on our performance. If we do our level best automatically the pay scale will rise.To show our performance in particular field job profile in must than the pay packages.

anjani jha well said, heavy packages attracts, but while accepting the offer the candidate must also know will they be able to perform efficiently, if yes then they should readily accept the offer, but if the candidate feels that the profile is not for them so just joining a job for the sake of pay scale is not advisable.

Well it particularly depends on an individual's choice. whether you prefer job profile over pay package or Pay package over job profile.but a recent research has declared that nowadays students prefer job profile over pay package. Today's students believe that its easy to get a job which can pay you a hefty amount but its hard to get a job of the same profile.which can satisfy you mentally.else if you are successful in your field.money will certainly follow you.usually it is said that money follows those where success resides.

I hope this report bring this discussion to an end
Over 83 per cent of B-School graduates in India were willing to forego a hefty pay package for a job profile of their preference, said an Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham) survey. Most of the B-school students participating in the Assocham survey answered that a job profile of their preference would help them in their long term career. These future industry managers prefer work profile combined with the growth opportunities, resisting tempting salary offers. Surprisingly only four per cent of students opted for fat salary packets over a good job profile. Fa

I would like to bring in one more aspect to this discussion on Pay package versus Job profile.
Pay package of an employee in any organization attaches with itself some responsibility + accountability. Higher the pay package higher would be the responsibility & accountability. It is obviously directly proportional. Therefore from an employer's view a very high pay package tends to include those special responsibilities & accountabilities which on most occasions does not come directly under the purview of the performing candidate. For example CEO of a company is responsible & accountable to the Board of Directors for the profitability of

aru.chopra absolutely due to increased need and wants most people are running towards highly paid jobs, how ever if a person is not satisfied with their job, they will end in no where plus their scope of growth also ends, so in my opinion job satisfaction should be the utmost criteria rather than pay package.

I believe that the long-term rapport between the organization and an employee is likely to stay firm, where pay packets ceases to be the sole objective of the workers. Those who are well satisfied with their pay and job status are less likely to leave the company.

Factors like desire for a higher standard of living, family expectations and responsibilities, compulsion to pay hefty amount of education loans, to save for investment in entrepreneurship have conventionally drawn people toward high paying jobs.

Hi All, am sorry I believe I am bit late entrant into the discussion. As the topic goes, according to me there are 2 perspectives of each thing. Pay package is important in terms of sustainability and profile is important in terms of learning and growth opportunities associated with it. To choose any one between the two depends on the candidate as per their need and requirement.
Many a times candidate choose handsome pay package but compromise on the job profile. It may happen that they may have to move out of their learning segment (eg. engineering candidate entering into insurance agency) and vice versa.
If a candidate choose to have a
