    Hi Anu,
    The function of a IT security professional is to protect the data and systems in the network that are connected to the internet. A hacker tries to find loopholes in a system and break into it.
    The job of a IT security professional is the same as of a typical hacker, but with a difference, i.e. to fix the loopholes in a system before it is exploited by the hackers.
