Hi Vaibhavi, In simple words I would relate, students pursuing hons. Programme at LPU are always given preference but you also have to work hard to beat up the cut off which is a bit high as compared to regular programs. As per my experience, if you have the zeal to stand apart from crowd and do a bit extra then you should definitely go for Hons programme. Need not to worry at all, your additional hard work will be definitely paid off. Hons. Programmes are more rigorous natured programmes at LPU. Hons. Programmes are more specialised as compared to General degree programmes. LPU offers one extra course per term in Hons programmes as compared to regular ones. Few of the major features of B Tech Hons programme at LPU are : Additional Curriculum Requirement One additional course of at least 2 credits per term as compared to regular programs. Highlights of the additional Courses : Practical/ workshops, technical and entrepreneurial projects as well as courses with exposure to cutting edge technologies would be offered. A mix of innovative and creative courses would be offered to increase the knowledge and hone the technical skills of the hons. Students. Stringent Eligibility Criteria LPU expects more from students pursuing Hons. Programme, so eligibility Criteria or Cut-offs for Test/ Interview are stringent. First preference would be given to Hons. Students in the following: In selection of Residential facility from the second year onwards. In selection of Open Elective / Social Science Elective In Students exchange / Foreign Scholarships / visits with the foreign universities whenever offered. More opportunities for technical training will be provided for hons. Students such as special counseling and assistance for international exposure assignments/projects, industrial exposure and in-house research projects. In case of Engineering and other programmes: Although major electives and department elective / specialisation baskets will be same for both regular and Honors. Where ever there are limited seats in these electives, the hons. Students will be allotted a special quota or preference may be given in choosing their electives.
