Online Classes- Major problem faced by students during this pandemic was the cancelling or delaying of examination but LPU stood out from other universities and institutes in conducting timely examination and declaring results The deadly coronavirus outbreak which has taken the entire world by storm has also impacted the education sector and particularly students a lot as schools, colleges and universities have been shut, various exam has been postponed or cancelled. To ensure the safety of the students and the teachers, the government had ordered all educational institutes in India to remain closed until March 31, 2020. Keeping that in consideration, Lovely Professional University has begun virtual classes for the students which they can attend from the comfort of their home or the hostels. LPU is also conducting proper, needed temperature and other related check-ups for every person who enters the campus. All the schools, staff rooms and cabins at LPU are being sanitised. The Chancellor of LPU, Ashok Mittal mentioned that to engage the students and to make up for the loss of study time during this period, they have resorted to online classes. LPU is a university which will also follow the guidelines given by GoI because this university is also concerned about the health of the students, faculty and every single person with whom they are dealing. Rather, I came to know that LPU has taken the major initiatives for the new start of session which are as follows: 1. Wearing of mask by all 2. Daily sanitation 3. Strict rules of movement 4. All the hostel rooms and buildings to be sanitized and unnecessary movement of anyone is prohibited 5. No big gathering 6. Thermal scanners 7. Distancing to be followed in sitting in class as well I. e leaving one seat and then next student will sit 8. Extending the timings of 9-5 so that there is no loss of class 9. Classes to be scheduled on weekends as well to avoid the loss 10. MOOC courses to be allotted to the student 11. Strength of class to be mellowed down. After coming to know these initiative, I was bit relaxed. LPU believes in delivering what it claims that it is doing. Waiting for this pandemic to end soon so that economy starts recovering.

In response to the current pandemic condition in India, the University has taken the following initiatives to support the prospective students along with the existing LPU community. Dealing with the COVID-19 situation was challenging not only for us but for everyone in this universe. However, LPU delivered on its critical commitments to facilitate effective learning for our students by training and advancing their knowledge frontier through comprehensive (360) use of technology. We are first among few organizations in the country who immediately responded to the situation by: Starting new session for Batch 2021 in July/ August 2021. Completing 1st and 2nd semester for 2020 batch students on time in December 2020 and May 2021 respectively. Started Online classes: To ensure that the precious time of the students is not lost, we started with live online classes immediately after the announcement of lockdown in March 2020. Developing LPU MyClass, an in-house robust platform, in collaboration with some of the best tech companies for online teaching and evaluation. Live online classes, much like face-to-face classes whose effectiveness has already been well tested in the last two semesters wherein more than 1,00,000 hours of online sessions were conducted for LPU students across various academic programs. These classes will continue till physical classes are permitted by the government and we are certain that you will enjoy this experience, which has its own charm and advantages, to prepare you for the technology-dominated future. Continued our focus on holistic development of the students, conducted 1000+ cultural events, co-curricular activities community projects, Expert lectures and Conferences in the Pandemic year. They include :- CAMPUS PREPAREDNESS: Temperature and other checks at entrance points of the university. All the members of faculty and staff are required to follow the COVID-19 related policies and requirements as stated by State/ Central Government. Additional measures include: Regular Cleaning & Disinfecting of workspace. Restrictive entry in the campus for all outsiders. 24X7 medical and health support through in-house Campus Hospital. Work from home option given to members having any health concerns. INITIATIVES IN RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES: To ensure the safety of students who would be residing in hostels, university has planned following initiatives: Regular Thermal scans for every individual entering the hostel premises. Respiratory Masks to be worn by everyone at the time of leaving the room. Sanitization of hostel rooms and other infrastructure facilities like common rooms etc. including play areas as per govt. norms Timing of consuming food in the Hostel mess to be staggered to ensure social distancing norms. Option of packed food and room service is also being explored. Uni Hospital situated at the heart of the campus is fully equipped to take care of the medical needs of the staff and students and is operational 24x7 with following facilities to manage all sort of medical emergencies. 25 bedded hospital staffed with well qualified doctors, nurses and lab technicians. Full time qualified doctors including a general physician, pathologist, ophthalmologist, dentist along with a physician from traditional Ayurvedic system of medicine. Visiting specialists once a week for providing specialty clinics. Tie up with Twenty-five hospitals for referral cases requiring specialized medical intervention. Hi there, all being a part of LPU is an experience and now being alumni they also update us on what new is going on. During this pandemic we all have faced many difficulties throughout the world all are in the same condition. The economy is down. Jobs are not there and at the same time, we need to take care of ourselves. Government of India recommended us to stay at home till the vaccination process done. After that, we need to follow the norms of social distancing and sanitation. Organizations are doing their best. But we need to take the right steps forward to break the chain of spreading this virus. LPU is so serious about the health of its students. LPU has taken various steps. Like they have placed alcohol-based sanitizers so that sanitation should be done. They have taken care of their guards and provided them the protection kits. Before entering the university they monitor the temperature of each individual. They are planning to give the shots of the vaccine to their staff. They have reduced the strength of the class. Up to 50% so that social distancing should be maintained. They have extended the class time from 9-5 so that there is no loss of study. Indoor supports complex were swimming pools, Gym, and another gathering is baned, Unnaccery movements are not allowed. Into the hostels. I hope the situation should be in control soon and the university will reopen soon and the economy of our country will back on track the thing is university is ready to welcome their students.
