What should be my preparation strategy for IIT JEE chemistry?

Chemistry is considered as the easiest subject for JEE in terms of difficulty level out of the 3 subjects. Coming to the strategies for JEE Chemistry. For JEE Inorganic Chemistry - Despite being the least liked topic, it is something which fetch you good marks very easily. Know the nature of topic as some topics are understanding based as periodic table, chemical bonding, coordination compound and some are totally learning based as s, p, d block & qualitative analysis. Be parallel with teacher and study regularly. Go topic wise. Periodic table- Be thorough with the trends as I. E. , electronegativity when you go up and down, learn exceptions and the logic. Chemical bonding- VSEPR theory, MOT, bonding & hybridization. Practice the structures well, build concepts like H bonding and dipole moment. Coordination chemistry- be clear with CFT and electronic configuration. Nomenclature, color, hybridization, exceptions, important complex name and properties. Organic has a very vast syllabus, so first build a strong grip on GOC, I mean on the basic concepts and stereo chemistry. Focus and visualize reaction mechanism. Practice a lot. Understand the reaction mechanism and solve all the questions, illustrations and coaching modules and previous year papers. Work on IUPAC nomenclature & Acid base reactions, practical organic chemistry. Be very thorough with stability criteria. For physical just practice and practice a lot.

Hi, Just go through ncert books you will get a good knowledge and they are sufficient for the exam. For further study you can use ABC book.
