If you are looking for the upper branches then your rank should be less than twenty five thousand. Basically there are two groups and different categories which indicates branch and fee structure respectively. If you are looking for main campus Vellore then your rank should not be more than 99,000.

Rank in VIT to get admission should be 90,000 so you can get admission in VIT from the 6th category as well. There are various categories as well with each category admission fees go high. Yes, the requirement is same in Chennai and Vellore. Total 90,000 rank is required to get admission.
