    NIM CET- National Institute of Technology Master of Computer Applications Common Entrance Test. This is the entrance exam taken at a national level for admission in the NIT's for a MCA program.
    The eligibility for the exam is min. 60% in graduation through BCA/B.Sc IT/BE/B.Tech etc.
    As this is a national level exam there needs to be some dedicated preparation to be able to clear the same and score well enough for admission.
    NIMCET is a two hour long exam that consists of 120 MCQ questions.
    The main sections include:
    Mathematics - 50 questions.
    Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning - 40 questions.
    Computer Awareness - 10 questions.

Please note that the cutoff ranks vary for different rounds and categories. For the OBC category students, the minimum cutoff rank required was 141 under the AII India quota. Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology accepts the NIMCET entrance exam for admission to the MCA programme. As per the MANIT Bhopal cutoff 2025, the minimum cutoff rank required during Round 1 admission was 339 for the students belonging to the general AI quota. Please note that the cutoff ranks vary for different rounds and categories. For the OBC category students, the minimum NIMCET rank required was 411 under the All India quota. Considering the NIMCET first-round closing ranks over the past three years, 350 is a very good rank to secure a seat at NIT Agartala for MCA admission. For 2025, the Round 1 cutoff was 826 for OBC category students under the AI quota. Similarly, in 2024 and 2023, the cutoff ranks were 939 and 675, respectively. So, based on the trends over these three years, there is a high possibility you will get admission to NIT Agartala. However, please note that admission to any institute also depends on other parameters such as seat availability, reservation criteria, etc.
