STEP (Systematic Training and Education Programme) is a three-year programme for students who are between 18 to 20 years of age and have completed or are about to complete Class XII. STEP offers comprehensive on the job training in Kitchen Operations or Hotel Operations (Front Office / Food and Beverage Service focus and Housekeeping focus) at select hotels of The Oberoi Group. There is no sure shot formula to crack STEP What has worked for person A may not work for person B.
The important thing to bear in mind is to have a pleasant and well-groomed personality, confident appearance and manner of speaking and presence of mind.

With my experience of working with Oberoi group, I find that the most important part for cracking any Oberoi interview is based on attitude. The general tests are always the same for everyone, but the student who will finally crack through STEP will definitely have a positive attitude. You can't prepare for a 'positive attitude'. Either, you possess it or you don't. As mentioned by Mr. Singh, there is no sure shot formula, but you should prepare yourself to face the toughest challenges in the coming life in hospitality industry. Oberoi believes more on attitude of a person rather than skill.

STEP is a very good program to join if you're interested in getting the practical knowledge and hands-on application. The steps are somewhat like employees of the particular hotel they're assigned to. A monthly stipend of 7.5k and 5 days you have to do your regular shifts, 1 day off and 1 day study (IGNOU'S Bachelor in tourism degree is also provided at the end of STEP.) Mind you, those 5 working shift days are not Monday to Friday, they can be any days, any shift timings and any amount of work. You might wanna look into the life of a hotelier, it is in fact very very tough and the pay is quite less in the beginning career stage(1315k
