Thapar University is not that good now as it was 8-10 years back. It is now a common private college with unusually high fees. It's placement record has decreased. IIIT is better than Thapar University in terms of placements, students, and faculty. I will suggest IIIT. Best wishes.

IIIT will be best for ECE, IT, CSE rather than Thapar or any other university. IIIT provides a better environment as any NIT and IITs have for study. But also choose in accordance with transportation, hostel facility. All the best.
