3 years agoYou should pursue a course in petroleum or energy engineering. Since new technologies and new modes of energy development are being invented, it is going to offer excellent opportunities in the near future. And to pursue an engineering programme in petroleum and energy studies, you may join Pandit Deendayal Energy University, Gujarat. Visit its profile to explore the course, campus, and admission process. https://www.shiksha.com/university/pandit-deendayal-energy-university-pdeu-gandhinagar-54332. -
Petroleum Engineering covers Chemistry and geology to extract oil and gas from under the earth's surface. Chemical engineering is a broader category than petroleum engineering. It covers the production and use of many types of chemicals. Chemical engineers use Chemistry to develop fuel, food, drugs and new substances. Both petroleum and chemical engineering are considered some of the most valuable degrees in India & abroad. But I recommend you to pursue Chemical Engineering out of these two courses. A Chemical Engineer could work in Petroleum sector as well. Chemical engineers can be employed in both the public and private sectors....more

If you are debating whether you should do petroleum or chemical engineering, you should first align your interests. Fortunately, you get plenty of career opportunities to explore in both. However, there are two specializations in petroleum Upstream and gas stream. In upstream, you develop skills for exploration and production of hydrocarbons. Whereas, in gas stream specialisation you develop skills for extraction, transformation, and recovery of economically useful materials. After graduation in Applied Petroleum Engineering with specialisation in Upstream, you can pursue a career in
