What should I do? I have scored low in JEE Mains (only 50).

Hi karthik,
You can go for AIEEE or there are so many universities that conducts pre-engineering tests for admission in B.Tech. Still, if you want to crack JEE then give another year but taking a year gap is not a good idea.
