Hi, You should do BA along with BA. You can start your preparations from the very first semester. Go for best institutes or universities. If your aim is clear that you have to fight for IAS then go for simple B.A. Or B.Sc because they take only 3 years and you don't have much load to study in it.

If your destination is IAS then any recognised graduation will make you eligible. To enhance other prospects many prefer doing an engineering degree.

Do BA if your primary goal is IAS. I would recommend pursuing BA from IGNOU through distance and do coaching for IAS. BA syllabus will actually help you in the later stages of civil services exams.
