Go for NDA exams but do start an early preparation for SSB interview, I appeared for NDA/NA 2016 paper 2 and qualified the written but at my SSB at Bhopal center I was able to survive till the last day unfortunately I was conferenced out at the end. I wasn't prepared for those tough personal interviews so please don't repeat my mistake and better go for a crash course at some coaching before appearing for SSB.

First of all, complete your 12th Standard with Excellence. Score as much as you can. Now for becoming a captain of ship there are two careers you can choose:
Indian navy or you can also be a captain of a cargo ship or cruise, i.e. Merchant Navy. But you should know your job profile i.e. you will remain nearly 6-8 months in sea and 2-3 months on land. Analyse yourself can you do it. See options after 12th to go in navy or merchant navy.
