Diabetes counselors should be healthcare professionals, such as clinical psychologists, social workers, physical therapists, dietitians, physicians or registered nurses (RNs), who are also certified diabetes educators or are eligible for certification. Education requirements vary by profe

After getting degree in B.Sc. (honors) in nursing, you must apply for RN license via NCLEX-RN exam from any state. Then you can start working as a diabetic educator and gain experience and skills.
