Take undergraduate degree in domains like journalism, mass communication or broadcasting. You can also pursue news anchor roles with a degree in political Science, communicative English or public relations. One must be well-read, able to articulate well, updated in Current Affairs and proficient in language both in spoken and writing. Sure, appearances do matter therefore, one must look fit, have a clear, confident style of delivery and good diction, and a sharp presence of mind in order to be a good news anchor.

6 years agoDear,
You have to do struggle for years to become a news anchor of any news channel. Firstly, you have to learn the journalistic fundamentals after joining any news channel as intern. And, you should have degree or Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication or specifically in Broadcast journalism or news anchoring. You should have good knowledge of current affairs and happenings. You should have good command on language also. And most important confidence to talk on stage with audience on any issues or panelists. So, all the best again if you have any doubt then let me know okay. -
Many employers prefer news anchors with a Bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism, mass communication, or journalism, although communications and similar majors are acceptable. The coursework for these programs is liberal arts-based with a mixture of writing classes and speech classes. If specializations or minors are available in broadcasting, a student may need to complete the applicable classes in order to become familiar with television news and production.
