What should I do to become an air hostess?

Hi Ranjan, * Eligibility Criteria for an Air-hostess-training programme : -One needs to pass plus two/ or a graduate degree with a diploma/degree in Hotel Management or Tourism Management. -The aspirant must be eligible to hold an Indian Passport and should be below twenty-five years of age with a minimum height of 157.5 centimeters. The weight should be in proportion to height. -One must be unmarried, with normal eyesight of 6/6 uncorrected vision in each eye. -Fluency in English, Hindi and knowledge of an international language is an added advantage. * Personal Attributes : Common sense, sense of responsibility, initiative, friendly outgoing personality, politeness, physical stamina and the capacity to work for long hours on one's feet, ability to react quickly in times of emergency and a presence of mind, systematic approach, unruffled appearance, a well-modulated pleasant voice, and a proportionate figure with a graceful carriage. Mastery in spoken English and other foreign languages as required. 18 - 26 years of age. 10+2 with degree in hospitality, or other graduate degree. Height of min 157.5 centimetres, Weight proportionate to the height. Eligible for an Indian Passport. Unmarried. Perfect eyesight. Good health.

The minimum educational qualification to pursue Air Hostess course is 10+2. Age limit usually depends upon the policy of a particular Institute. Normally, academies prefer candidates within age group of 17 years and 26 years. Minimum Height required must be 5.2 or 157 cm. etc.

Hi Ranjan, To be part of cabin crew, you are required to take care of your physical appearance. Your Weight, Height, Body Structure, Communication Skills, skills like swimming, use of fire extinguishers and other emergency situation skills are required. You can join any air hostess training institute for the same. Search for various aviation colleges in your city at Shiksha.com

Hi, You can pursue Diploma courses in Air Hostess training or cabin crew and hospitality course from any reputed institutes. You can also do B.Sc in Aviation, Hospitality and Tourism. Educational qualification for a cabin crew is class 12th. Requirements to be a cabin crew: Fluent English Passionate for delivering excellent service on every occasion Being trustworthy and reliable Being correct and precise in their job Proactively seek solutions and take personal responsibility for resolving problems Be willing and able to work shifts Minimum age of 18 or 21, depending on the airline Minimum height of 158cm or 160cm, depending on the airline Being able to swim No visible tattoos or body piercings while wearing the uniform No criminal record Right to live and work in that country you will be based at or being able to get a working visa in that country Have a healthy BMI Minimum high school education Have a valid Passport DGCA (the Indian regulatory authority which is responsible for regulatory and safety oversight of Indian aviation, and a lot more), specifies that Cabin Crew need to be trained on the Specific type of aircraft they work on. This is called Safety and Emergency Procedures (SEP) training and is specific to a particular type of aircraft (For example, Cabin Crew with SEP card from Go Air can join Indigo without a full training again because both the airlines operate the same type of aircraft-A320 but crew with a SEP card on ATR-72/Q-400 of Jet/Spice Jet cant have to get trained afresh on A320 if joining Indigo or Go Air by that airline), this training deals with crew understanding of aircraft, response in case of emergency etc. , which is the primary duty of cabin crew. A SEP card is issued to the crew after they pass the exams after this training only after which they can fly.
