After completing BE, you can prepare for civil service exam either by joining some coaching institute or through self-preparation. You have to fill UPSC preliminary exam forms for this.

You can decide the subjects, which you want to opt for. Then, you can go through the syllabus to find out where you stand. It is all competition and your position in the arena. So, you can't take even minimum risk.

If you think, you can grab a good rank in UPSC, then you can do self-study. Otherwise, you can choose a good institute for UPSC preparation. I will suggest you to move towards Delhi because most of the good institute for UPSC are there.
    All the best.

Civil services exams are really tough. To crack these exams, you have to understand the pattern and type of questions asked every year.
Also, as you have done BE, your reasoning and quantitative aptitude techniques are required to be polished.
For this you might need to join some coaching or online test preparation course.
For GK, you need to focus on current affair and newspaper reading.

    Hi,
Firstly, start your preparations by planning your studies and then rely on the timetable for completing and make sure, always standby with TT. Deleting your social media accounts including WhatsApp will definitely help you. Do not get bothered by what others think, especially relatives. Refer books from good author.
    All the best.
