Chemical engineering and Information Technology are poles apart. In chemical engineering you'll be learning your chemistry subjects in depth whereas in IT is all about software implementation of computer science where you will be learn about starting from basic programming in C, oops, data structures followed big data, machine learning. It completely depends upon your interest and skill set where you want to pursue.

First thing that will matter is your field of interest.
Further, there is obviously more scope for you in information technology but only if you have interest in coding and programming.
It is not that chemical engineering has less scope or something but the fact of demand of information technology engineers cannot be denied.
