    Some of the important skills one must consider in a Public Relations work are -
    Social Media Skills - Public Relations practitioners should have knowledge about various social media channels currently in use. As different channels have varying impact on the public and people you are appealing. There is a different strategy when using different platforms. A good PR person not only constrained with the platform of use but how to use each platform to its the fullest potential.

    Skills that one should work upon to grab an internship in a public relations/marketing company are to be seen from two perspectives. As the question itself mentions the two- Public Relations and the other is Marketing. Marketing is made of promotions for sales. Whereas, Public Relations or PR is seen as liaisoning and connecting with the stakeholders which may not just be a marketing. There has always been a difference between PR and Marketing so I can not reply in one tone to the two questions.
