Arts students can apply for the National Defence Academy (NDA) exam, but they should focus on the General Ability Test (GAT):

GAT:the GAT covers English, General Knowledge, and Current Affairs. Arts students can perform well in this section. Mathematics:Mathematics is compulsory for the NDA exam, but it's not required for all branches.

To enter the NDA after studies of Arts you shall have to meet some subject prerequisites. The principal subjects required are:

    1. Mathematics (for candidates for technical posts)

    2. Physics of technical specializations

    3. General Knowledge with History, Geography, Current Affairs, etc.

If you haven't studied subjects like Physics or Mathematics in school then you won't be eligible for many branches like Air Force, Navy etc. This is very important that one sees the detailed eligibility at the time of registering in NDA exams.
