What topics to prepare for group discussion/personal interview for Symbiosis Law School ?

The topics that are mostly asked for in the GD and PI at Symbiosis are the contemporary issues i.e. ongoing issues. For eg., For 2018 interviews topics such as Doklam India China Issue, Rohingya Crisis, India's Foreign Policy, Triple Talaq Judgement, Right To Privacy Judgement, National Anthem Judgement, issues like Gender Equality, LGBT rights and GST are very important. Basically, during GDs your general awareness is tested. So, reading newspaper and following burning topics would help you. Also, the PI is basically opinion based, thus you must have your own conclusions and opinions on topics. Also, your ideology must be progressive and you must be able to justify what you say and be able to substantiate by citing reasons as well. So, for PI you must be confident in whatever you say even if it is wrong. For 2018, the above mentioned topics are important as of now and also do follow the newspaper and recent developments and other incidents that take place and have some relation with law.

Usually for the group discussion, the topics that are given to you are current topics which could have a good legal discussion. When I was a part of the GD in Symbiosis, the topic that was very much talked about at that time was about the legalization of Euthanasia, so we were given this topic for discussion. So, I would suggest you to prepare for recent topics that would be in discussion around your exams. Some of the topics that you should study for are RERA, GST, and (their positive and negative impacts). Also, the topics that are given to you are open ended which could get most possible positive and negative answers when up for discussion. And, for personal interview, they ask you about the reason behind you choosing Symbiosis over other law colleges. Then, they ask you for your work experiences (if any, for example: internships and all), Moot Courts that you participated, debates and extracurricular activities, if you have participated in any. In the interview, they look for your communication skills, language fluency and your academic excellence. So, you should be thorough with your basic knowledge about law.
