Hi, 4 major departments in hotel management are: 1) Food Production 2) Food and Beverage Service 3) Front-office 4) Housekeeping The above mentioned four are main subjects if you study in India. It’s better to study HM abroad as you get good hands on experience and also you can work at good designations after the course while in India you will have to start career from very low as a waiter if you choose F&B as your interested department.

These are the basic courses under Hotel Management: 1) B.Sc. Hotel Management. 3 years. 2) Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology. 4 years. 3) B.Sc. (Airlines, Tourism, and Hospitality) 3 years. 4) Diploma in Airline Cabin Crew and Hospitality. 1 Year All the degrees are having their genre and forte. If you want to pursue a career in the Commercial Aviation Industry then Degree in Airlines is a good Option. On the other hand, Hospitality Industry is a genre where I never found a downfall rather nowadays, especially in developing countries, it is growing like anything. I would like to tell you that degree in airlines is generally of 3 years duration whereas a Hotel Management degree is most likely of 3 years and 4 years duration both. Although a Hotel Management degree has the longest gestation period the two Hotel Management degrees paves a way for you in both the Industries Aviation and Hospitality industries as well. In India, I must say LPU might be as good as IHM's in North India. And yes LPU does offer a bachelor's degree in Hospitality and Airline Tourism. Placements are very good in it, salary packages are very good. I have heard of a few overseas placements also. LPU provides 4 Hospitality courses: 1) B.Sc.
