what was an aeronautical engineer to do ?

iam afraid of heights so i cant test an aircraft but i want to join aeronautical engineering can i join this?

An aeronautical engineer does periodic maintenance and servicing of aircraft. The engineers do not carry out air test that is done by pilots. Engineers give ground runs to test the aircraft. Again ground run does not mean running the aircraft on ground but is done at a fixed point on ground.
