The cut-off percentile for CAT 2016 will be 65 for candidates belonging to the General category, 60 for OBC and 55 for SC and ST. The average package is around Rs 7 lakhs.

CAT cut-off for general category students was around 70 percentile. This year it is expected to be around 65 percentile. Average package is around Rs 7 lakhs per annum.

The cut-off percentile for CAT 2016 will be 65 percentile for candidates belonging to the general category, 60%ile for OBC and 55%ile for SC and ST. Not much of a difference has been seen in the salary packages offered to freshers and those with work experience. On an average, one (with or without work experience) can expect to receive an average package of 6 LPA or more. The students of the 2015-2017 batch were offered an average salary package of Rs 7.30 lakhs. Some companies permit the students they have selected to negotiate with them regarding the salary package that they have offered. In such a situation, work experience might come in handy. But your Summer Internship Project also plays a major role during such negotiations. The candidate's negotiation skills play a role as well. There are very few companies that offer different packages depending on the candidate's work experience. I hope this answers your question. Don't know about the CAT cut-off but if you're looking for core insurance profiles, the average package is around Rs LPA, if you have any other additional certification, the package will increase.
