What will be my percentile after scoring 53 marks in CAT 2018?

After talking to several people, I can tell you that you should see CAT 2016 RANK vs PERCENTILE. This year was easy comparable to that.

CAT percentiles are calculated as similar as calculated in other exams. In any exam percentile shows how many persons are below in list. Eg. Suppose you got 5th rank in exam where 2000 students appears in exam it means 1995 students score less than you. Percentile will be calculated like this- %ile= (1995/2000)*100= 99.75percentile. CAT percentile is calculated after calculating your scaled score. Your score in CAT out of 300 is your raw score. CAT exam conducts in more than one shifts like CAT 2018 will conducts in two shift. The level of paper will definitely different so a scaled score is calculated to balance the difficulty level of paper. One of my known score 99.02 percentile in CAT 2017 and his scaled score was 173.75. approximately 199600 aspirants appears in CAT 2017 so we can check his rank as follows- 99.02= (X/199600)*100 X= 197643.92, Where X= number of candidates who score less to my known person. The number is not integer because I take total 199600 CAT 2017 aspirants that was a approximate number not a real number. It means 197644 candidates score less than my known, means he secured 1957 rank in CAT 2017.
