Journalism after class 12th can very interesting subject but to get into travel journalism. First you need to learn the basic of journalism and start your social media or YouTube channel related to travel and build network with media by applying as an internship or job. Start journalism course from NIMCJ , Parul University, Amity University, Bennett etc.

Travel journalism can be fun to pursue but is pretty demanding too. To be a good travel journalist, one must have a passion to be on the go (obviously!). What you can do is join the B.J. M. C. course or Bachelor in a journalism course, while pursuing this course start taking interest in it and look for a media house for an internship. Both things work together to pursue a dream career. Join NIMCJ for the B.J. M. C. course.

The career as a travel journalist is full of adventure and fun. But unfortunately there is no specific course for travel journalism in India. You can study Journalism at UG/PG level and look for jobs in travel sector or journals as a writer or a photographer, whichever interests you. You can apply for jobs in travel magazines and travel websites, once you are a graduate. You can also take up internships in travel sector to have maximum exposure.

    Hello,
If you intend to pursue the field of journalism, then you should do choose the Bachelors in mass communication. You must develop skills in:
    Being an active traveller
    Good researcher
    Taking photos
    Writing
    Scene building
As such there no specialised course for travel journalism. But your souls pursue the field of journalism or mass communication as your undergraduate programme.

Yes, it should not be hard for you to get admission to the University of Western Australia as an Indian student with 50% in class 12th. However, please note that it does not put you in the top applicants either. The general admission percentage requirement for international students is 50 to 65%.

Look at the other admission requirements -

  • English proficiency tests with IELTS (bands 6.5) or TOEFL iBT (82+)
  • High school Diploma from a recognised board like CBSE or ICSE etc.
  • Some course-specific subjects for Engineering programs

Top universities require a minimum of 80-90% in your 12th-grade board exams.

  • Average universities often accept students with 60-75%.
  • For highly competitive courses like Medicine, cut off is usually higher.
  • Strong SAT/ACT scores can also compensate for a slightly lower board percentage.

Countries like Germany and Norway are excellent options. Because public universities there charge little to no tuition fees.  The cost of living and education is significantly lower compared to the USA or UK. You must factor in living expenses and language requirements.
