What would be the salary after completing M.Sc in environmental science?

There are many career options in the field of Environmental Science. After completing the course, one may work as : -Lecturer -Research Fellow -Research Assistant -Wildlife Film-maker -Environment Journalists -Forest Carbon Specialist -Conservation Hydrologist -Senior Programme Officer -Environment Photographer -Director of Waste Management -Senior Catastrophe Risk Modeller * Salary : Salary depends on various parameters such as size of the organization, profile, qualification, experience etc. But, still, to give you a brief idea, Scientists who are working in government sector can start earning in the range of Rs. 12,000 to Rs 18,000 per month. Candidates with a postgraduate degree can earn initially within the range of Rs. 35000 to Rs. 50000. With a Ph.D degree one can earn in between Rs. 50000 - Rs. 75000. A licensed engineer can expect a salary of Rs.1 lakh per month.

Environmental science is a multidisciplinary approach and integrates the biological, physical and earth sciences. With the intention to understand, how earth works and how it supports life systems, identify, control and prevent disruption to its systems and species caused by human activity. Environmental scientists conduct research to identify the causes of such issues and work upon strategies on how to minimize or eliminate them. They conduct theoretical research to increase the understanding of how the natural world works and use their knowledge to formulate recommendations and develop strategies for managing environmental problems. Environmentalists are engaged in environmental policy, planning and management usually work for a local government and are likely to be engaged in a lot of research intensive work. Higher study opportunities include M.Phil and Ph.D after clearing NET. The opportunities also exist in academic sector.
