I am not sure where you are studying and what is the context of this question, it certainly sounds bizarre that your professor is asking you to cheat. Having said that, I am also aware that certain institutes allow open book/notes exams where students are allowed to refer to book and/or notes during the examination. I guess the objective being, with availability of all resources at your disposal, how well would you perform. Needless to say, in order to make effective use to books/notes, you should know what and where to refer and that in turn means you would have at least been through the books and notes once, if not more.

I cant seem to imagine how would your professor ask you to cheat. It is very unlikely that he/she will directly say to you until and unless he/she is related to you. But well, let's imagine it happened.
Case 1: Teacher asks you to leave the paper blank and expects some payment to get you good marks. This is the most common and you can see this happening in many movies. You must be already aware that there are high chances of being caught and ruining your future. Because once this is on your marksheet, you are definitely doomed. Now, you be the judge.

This question is really weird but interesting. We study for education and for our own personality development. We should have some ethics and we should follow them in our professional lives. Engineering is a professional course and you should do it sincerely.
As per my opinion, I will tell my professor that professional students don't need this kind of things. I cannot manage for marks but manage for hard work definitely.
If a teacher is asking for it then it would the most shameful thing for teachers. Instead of asking to cheat in exams, a teacher should ask for what you have done with those subjects and have you prepared them well or

It sounds a bit weird when a teacher/professor asks a student to cheat but it is the scenario now a days few students are facing. According to me, a 'veteran' teacher will never ask you to cheat (there could be exceptions). But nowadays, a significant number of the young mind is bending toward teaching profession. Since they have just crossed their student's life and entered into a teaching profession, they think of the various type of difficulties a student faces during studies and exams.
There are possibilities that you would become the favorite student for your teacher (depending on your talent and impression). During the exam, if t
