    If you'll start early, it'll be beneficial for you only. Begin from your 1st semester, as professors will already be teaching you the basics of programming. So, it's better to start off with them, so you can clear your doubts and queries with them on timely basis and it'll not clutter up. Almost every other college teaches C as the first language, so it's better to begin with C. In this way, you'll also stay up-to-date with your syllabus and course's curriculum.
