    Gauhati University was established in 1948 and is a government university. Since its establishment in 1948, Gauhati University has been ranked by various ranking bodies. The university is approved by UGC (University Grants Commission) and AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education). The university has a big library and has various digital resources. Guwahati University also provides various scholarships and other facilities to students.
