IIT Kharagpur was established in 1951 and is ranked five by NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) 2023 under the Research category. It is a public/government institute, hence the fee for various courses is not very high. Even if the students find the fee a little high, they can apply for the scholarships provided by the college.
