In 1975, the University was founded by Dr.Mahatma Jyoti Rao Phoole. The university of Mahatma Jyoti Siro Phoole is situated in Bareilly,Uttar Pradesh
The university was established in 1975 as Rohilkhand University, and after that renamed as Mahatma Jyotiba Phule in 1997 in honour of Mahahtma Jyotiba Phule .
K.P. Singh is a vice chancellor of this university, the university ranking is very good
