    Sri Krishnadevaraya University was founded on July 25, 1981. The university is located in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, India, and is named after a patron of learning and the arts, Sri Krishnadevaraya, of the Vijayanagara empire of the 16th century. Sri Krishnadevaraya University started as a Postgraduate Centre of Sri Venkateswara University in the year 1967-68.
