Established in 1961, Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) Surat is recognised by the UGC. It is a part of the thirty NITs that has been recognised by the Indian Government due to their national importance. The institute houses the 'Center of Excellence' by the World Bank, which studies flood management and water resources. SVNIT Surat offers UG, PG, Doctoral and Integrated degree courses in the field of Engineering and Technology.
