    Most states kick off GNM notifications between May and August, soon after Class 12 results. Government nursing councils/DMEs handle centralised counselling; private colleges run parallel merit lists or entrance tests/interviews. Track your state nursing council website + college portals. Eligibility is usually Class 12 (Science preferred, but many accept Arts/Commerce) with forty to forty? five percent marks, plus age 17+. Fees vary widely—government institutes can be under fifty thousand rupees a year; private ones can cross one Lacs rupees.
