    IIT Kharagpur is generally considered to be one of the top IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology) in India, along with IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, and IIT Madras. According to the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2021 rankings released by the Indian government, IIT Kharagpur was ranked as the third-best engineering college in India, behind IIT Madras and IIT Delhi.
