The qualification you use to meet the Australian study requirement decides your stream.

Your qualification	Stream	Stay period
Associate degree, Diploma or trade qualification	Post-Vocational Education Work	Up to 18 months
Bachelor's degree or higher	Post-Higher Education Work	Usually 2–3 years (up to 4 for Indian PhD holders)

For the vocational stream, the qualification must be closely related to your nominated occupation on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).
