Which are better- New IITs vs old NITs?

IIT has a brand name which pays during fill employment life cycle. New IITs will create their own brand quickly because of government support and hand holding by one legacy IIT. If you prefer being called an IITian, you must prefer new IITs over NITs.

I think new IITs would be better because it will give a name of an IITian and will offer jobs of good salary package.

Hi, NITs (National Institutes of Technology) and IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology) are a bunch of engineering colleges that are well-acclaimed both nationally and internationally for their excellence in the field of education. The first 14 RECs between 1959 and 1965, which later were upgraded to NITs in 2003, were an offshoot of the then Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru's vision of making India flourish at the Global level. Whereas, the history of IITs dates back to Indias pre-independence era. At present, there is a total of 31 NITs across the nation and the number of IITs is 23. We all would concede, both the institutes have extensively contributed in raising the standard bar for education and have played a major role in accelerating country's growth in the technological sector. This is one main reason for the mounting comparisons and differences that have always been a major topic of debate. These comparisons have become a sort of benchmark for engineering aspirants to decide for themselves the right option. As a common notion, IITs are superior to NITs in the following ways: -IITs are a globally recognized brand. -The quality of students and faculty is better at IITs. -They have a stronger academic collaboration. -Placements and infrastructure of IITs is also better.
