In my opinion, it is not the books that matter, it's about how well you understand the concept and how you apply, because even the most complicated questions are based on fundamental concepts. Referring more books will give you a better idea of what type of questions will come and how to approach. P

See, the best book is NCERT but for practice and to increase the speed of solving the answers you can opt for some other books that are having approximately 90% as questions, in that previous year question paper will be best as in that you can get the idea of what's the pattern of the paper.

For Maths- RD Sharma and RS Aggarwal
For Chemistry- NCERT, OP Tandon
