For general biotechnology: Biotechnology by B. D Singh
Biotechnology: A Problem Approach by Pranav Kumar and Usha Mina
For genetic engineering: GENE CLONING AND DNA ANALYSIS by T. A. Bro

You can take guide from TAMARIN, RAWN, LEHNINGER, these are one of the best books for B.Sc Biotech students. Go through these guides. These are a key to success for the 1st year. B.Sc Biotech students. Move over, you can grind them very easily.
