Which are the best coaching institutes for CFA and why?

Best coaching institutes for CFA are: Shah Classes (Sir Laukik Shah): Being the oldest coaching institute, seniors I know studied with him. He made a name for having a monopoly in the CFA coaching industry a decade back. At that time, there were no options, you see. The passing score was high in CFA exams overall, as much as ninety percent at that time, so that was in his favor. In fact, he himself confessed in the demo session that he hasn't cleared even the first level of CFA. However, there were no other options from where one could learn the CFA, other than him, at that time. Finstructor: I almost decided on joining this institute but later, I dropped the idea as I learned that the founder has handed over the Finstructor franchise to other professors to let them use the brand which he created. V D Shah: Inexperienced tutor, so obvious problems associated with not being experienced like silly mistakes in formulas or keeping his book open while writing a formula, (he himself says he can't remember a few formulas). But I admit that he logically, step by step derives every formula & also gives some practical valuation stories regarding it. FinTree: The decade old FinTree (Pune branch) is awesome. Everything's great, the teaching pace (slow pace & day long lectures), the support for doubt solving and all I've heard about this institute is good. When it comes to FinTree-Mumbai, I think it loses its charm a bit.

Hi, My own class selection journey is a thorough analysis, more inclined towards the facts that classes hide, rather than pointing out the good points, since the classes themselves would anyway exaggerate those. Listing from bad to better: 1. EDUPRISTINE: Like you, even I had an impression that this is the only legit training center. But alas, they work like a Spoken English class Managing' part time faculties on weekends and expanding their Business'. They use cheap marketing gimmicks as well, such as, the impressive professor Amit Jain, VP Kotak, and probably IIM and IIT pass out, who took the demo sessions doesnt take many of the actual lectures. 2. When it comes to FinTree Mumbai, I think it loses its charm a bit. 6. SIR ARIF IRFANULLAH OR DR. MARK MELDRUM VIDEOS: Popular, simplistic, with a nice command over the language (though Mark Meldrums English accent would become a barrier to a few). Opt for virtual learning when you miss real lectures, dont do the blunder of relying completely on videos to save tuition fee. All the best.
