    University of Delhi is one of the best universities in India for economics.
    Lady Shri Ram College for Women-Delhi, Sri Ram College of Commerce, St. Stephen's College and Ramjas College has best faculty members in commerce and economics department. Cut off percentage is very high for the UG programs.
    IIT, Kharagpur is also a very good option for BA hons in economics and cut off percentage is very high, around 95%.
    St. Albert's college, Cochin established in 1946. Affiliation is granted by the Mahatma Gandhi University. This college library is well stocked and placement is very good.

    In today's situation economists perhaps holds the key of altering the fortunes of billions with a few policy choices which makes it imperative for students like you to study the theory and apply it in real world problems to find life changing solutions for individuals and world economies alike. Being an economist, I find that many Indian colleges teach the theory impeccably but their practice is somehow lagging behind.     When it comes to get the best, you must have to deliver the best first. In India, actually, there are very lesser number of college who offers a good quality education in Economics Hons level. According to me, the best college is one who intake (student input) the best and outtake (student output) the best. Hence, with this barometer, I would consider two colleges namely (1) Indian Statistical Institute and (2) Delhi School of Economics.
