Hi Nadeem, The eligibility Criteria for Bachelor in Mass Communication is: Age: At the time of admission a student should be 17 years of age or should complete 17 years before 1st October of the year in which admission is sought. Education Qualification: A student must have successfully completed his/her 10+2 from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or any other examination recognized as equivalent to it. The minimum marks for gaining admission are 45 – 50 percent. However, most of the universities/institutes insist on 1st division in aggregate of 3 main subjects and 1 elective subject in XIIth standard. Some colleges also want their student to be fluent in English language and expect at least 75 marks in the subject. But selection of students is not done based solely on marks scored in 10+2. In order to gain admission in his/her desired university/institute every student as to appear for an entrance test. The entrance test is generally divided into three parts - written test, group discussion (G.D.) and personal interview (P.I.). And based on performance in all the three parts a student will be finally selected. This is just a general view of the eligibility criteria across various institutes / universities. However every institute and university has its own eligibility criteria. Students are advised to check out with each college separately. Hi Nadeem, There are several careers in media in writing, production or post production which would eventually lead to the direction. -You can become a reporter, actor or getting behind the camera to direct, cinematographer or do finishing work as an editor, compositor or a VFX artist who can add reality to 3D visualizations. -You may even be a graphic artist who designs the screens, or an animator who brings stories to life as a proxy actor for onscreen characters. You can get into production, whether live or animated. -You can be a story writer who writes for live and animated screens or even roll the story into a video/ PC game. -You can be a script writer who would stop at nothing to give wonderful scene setups to bring the story to life. -You could be an artist who designs characters or who storyboards the film for live or animated performance. -You can also double up as a voice over artist who gives his/ her voice to the characters or dub for movie stars, or even be a radio star. -You can alternatively look at web for a web of careers in web design, online marketing, search engine optimization, content writing, social media promoting. Any extra skill can be used in this. So it turns out to be one of the most challenging as well as satisfying careers. Sure not recommended for the weak hearted. Do remember that digital design careers (e.g. web design, graphics, UI design, animation, VFX, multimedia) give better profits since they can be delivered anywhere in the world and hence may earn in dollars, resulting in better rewards for designers. Some people are passionate about acting, they must understand that acting cannot provide jobs since this is an assignment based industry and one must fit the role.
